I have completed a BA Psychology and hold an MSc in Person Centred Psychotherapy from Middlesex University and a Diploma in Person Centred Counselling from Metanoia Institute, London. These training courses combined humanistic and experiential models of working.
I have been practising as a counsellor and psychotherapist since 2009 in various settings where I have gained invaluable experience working with people with a variety of concerns such as: depression, anxiety, feelings of isolation, relationship difficulties, work difficulties, low self-esteem, loss and trauma.
Relevant to my therapeutic work, I have worked in university counselling services and various acute mental health settings, such as Arbours Association and The Centre for Better Health, and charities, such as The Maytree Suicide Respite Centre, Westminster Mind and City & Hackney Mind.
I am an accredited member of both the UK Council For Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association For Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) – the two principal accrediting bodies for counsellors and psychotherapists working in private practice. Both bodies have extensive and rigorous criteria for accreditation.
In accordance with the requirements of my accreditation I attend regular Clinical Supervision and I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for good practice in Counselling & Psychotherapy.
